Welcome to So Many Ideas

(Note:  This site is a work in progress.  Please check back frequently as content is added and more "letters" relative to the topics at the right are revealed.)

If you're like me, a thousand ideas go through your head every day.  Perhaps you are looking to change career direction, you have an event to plan, you have a person in your life to whom you want to express your feelings, or you just need a boost and don't know where to find one.  Most people have a wealth of knowledge and experience upon which to draw.  But where do you start when you want to make changes or just make progress?  In most circles, a pretty common answer to that is, "It doesn't matter where.  Just start.  Do something."  Therein lies another dilemma.  Which something will you choose?

In starting this site, I couldn't choose that "one thing" about which each of us is supposed to be passionate.  I have so many interests, so many experiences, multiple struggles which have taught me many life lessons, and an endless number of joys.  In my life journey, I've accumulated expertise in some things through training and in far more things through an education in the school of hard knocks.  All I know means nothing unless I make my own personal meaning from it and weave it into each day, creating the best life I can in each moment and share it.

For me, each experience, good or bad, draws me closer to who I am.  My true self is not just good at one thing nor passionate about a specific product or service.  My passion is for living life on purpose.   The past and my knowledge are the backdrop which enable me to do that in each moment.

This site is a reflection of me, all I know, all I have experienced, and all I feel I have to offer others who may travel a similar path back to themselves.  I wasn't sure what to write about or where to start.  So many ideas, so little time.  Besides that, I always need a theme and I was flailing around trying to find some common ground between all my ideas.  Then it hit me that I was the common ground.  All those ideas were part of my life, not so very different than anyone else's life really, but I think I do have some things to share.  All that was left was to start.  I started with A.   Keep it simple, right?  Well, nothing is simpler than the ABC's.  I am tackling all the ideas one letter at a time with a little alliteration thrown in because that tends to be my signature style.   It is my hope that you find something of value as you explore a rhythmic romp through this site.   Happy searching.

Featured Poem from Infinite Insights:
"The Tree and The Moss"

Copyright 2012, Lynn Ste. Marie

She started out a simple tree
With fragile roots no one could see.
For years in silence they did lay
'Neath sandy soil atop the clay.

The tree would never burrow down
To feel the earth beneath the ground.
It seemed that if she ventured there
The end result could be despair.

What if this place was hard and dry?
How could her branches reach the sky?
Or were it but a cold, wet bog,
She might become too waterlogged.

The sandy bottom helped her grow,
At least enough to see the road.
She could begin the journey out
Yet, something in her raised a doubt.

Her boughs cut off the sun most days
But one bright morning they had raised
Revealing on the ground below
A carpet's green and dewy glow.

Around her on the rocky slope
Were rocks more ancient than her hope.
She leaned down far as she could reach
To learn what those rocks had to teach.

"What is this cover green and lush
Which grows with patience and no rush?
Does it not bother one so old
To have a cover wet and cold?"

The rock said, "Dear, you've found the thing
For which you've searched now every spring.
The green is moss, it's dense and strong.
In every forest it belongs.

The secret to its beauty though,
Is where it lands and where it grows.
A tree with roots atop the clay
Will have no moss, for moss will stay.

So when moss chooses where to land
It looks for roots and strength, not sand.
Now every tree must gather moss
Along the way, or suffer loss.

The thing you must begin today
Is build your roots so they will stay.
Dig down deep into the earth
And there you'll find how much you're worth.

Your structure is but one small part
Of who you're meant to be. Now start.
Sink your roots into the loam
And feel of the comfort you'll call home.

The tree, though scared, began the task
To plant herself in place at last.
It felt so strange to anchor here
But soon a calm replaced the fear.

The branches soon brought shoots to bear
And later flowers filled the air.
Her bark, once thin, became a cloak
Befitting of a mighty oak.

The tree grew strong and then looked down
To see what lay upon the ground
And there it was, a carpet green
Wrapped on her trunk in every seam.

The tree was warm within that bed.
The rock looked up and then he said,
"Now you will see the lesson true.
It wasn't really about you."

"A forest is a forest, dear,
Because of all who enter here.
It's not a tree, or rock, or moss.
Without it all, there would be loss.

The moss engulfs the tree's wide base
Providing beauty, warmth, and grace
The tree in turn will give moss room
And in that safety, moss will bloom.

And many years from now you'll see
The brown and green are all the tree
The only time you'll see what's been
Is when the sun appears again.

The tree will part her branches grand
Revealing moss throughout the land.
And in that moment all recall
The leap of faith behind it all."

~And in the words of Paul McCartney, "There will be an answer. Let It Be."
